The Quietening is a story about chosen family, queer community, and what happens when someone refuses to give up on you.

When Jacob's estranged Mum dies, he has to confront a past he’s spent years trying to outrun. Grumpy, withdrawn and carrying the lasting effects of conversion therapy, he's built a life around keeping people at a distance - until he meets Ethan.

Ethan seems determined to break through every wall Jacob has built - and as their relationship deepens, Jacob begins to face memories that have been buried for decades, and discovers that healing might actually be possible.
