EMERGENCE is our evolving space for new sounds from the worlds of jazz and beyond. Sometimes as a standalone gig, sometimes as a week-long festival, sometimes as something different altogether. But always a stage for what's emerging on the artistic outskirts and ready to demand our attention.

RE-ENCHANT
7-12 May 2024

First held in 2018 at St Mary In The Castle in Hastings, and then enjoying a quarterly slot at The Cockpit (Jazz In The Round’s London home), Emergence has become an important space for new voices. In 2021 we took Emergence back to the seaside for a weekend at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. In 2022 we took over The Fox & Firkin in Lewisham and in 2023 we hosted a string of "Poetic Experiments for a New World" with Emergence's 5 day Re-Enchant festival. For ten years, Jazz In The Round has been proud to be a part of London’s jazz scene, presenting, recording and broadcasting the stream of evolving talent supported superbly by initiatives like Total Refreshment Centre, Jazz Refreshed and Tomorrow’s Warriors, whilst also running guest stages at Love Supreme, Kings Place and The Roundhouse.
