This week on Just Off Church Street, Groundwork are on the look out for young green leaders, Churchst.org want your feedback on the latest regeneration pre-planning consultation and I give you all the deets on Census day.
Also Jennie will take you through Theatre Maker's Spring Term of courses, workshops and development opportunities, as well as what's livestreaming from our space and Michelle Olley invites all on a Journey to Nutopia.

This week we'll hear from The MIddle Eastern Women And Society Organisation (MEWSO) about their upcoming online domestic violence conference, you get the chance to have your say on busking and street entertainment in the Westminster area with surveys and online Q&A sessions, and there's more from Westminster Adult Education Service about courses available for enrolment.

You can find out more about Westminster's plans for Black History Month, and there's a special mention for Henry Sylvester Williams - An anti-slavery and civil rights campaigner from Trinidad who became the first black councillor in Westminster.

This week, hear about Westminster City Council's Neighbourhood Keepers Programme as they seek out new innovative proposals for their scheme and show you what a difference this scheme can make to a community. Zumba anyone? Plus meet the volunteers from Young Healthwatch Westminster, and learn about the opportunities offered by The Westminster Employment Service
And hear what's happening at The Cockpit, both online and in the venue!
Wednesday 19 August
This week we're shining a light on all the tasty food offerings outside The Cockpit doors and along Church St. There's Lahore, a taste of India across the street, Alfies Rooftop Kitchen which is just a walk across the road and a climb of some rickety stairs for some of the best views in London, and an array of tastes on the stalls of Church Street Market including Laila creole cuisine, Paella brothers, Sara Falafel and Tikka Grill London.
We're also looking at the new online term of classes and workshops being launched by The Cockpit's Theatre Maker, and hear from The Church Street community about staying safe and the importance of Test And Trace.

This week we will be telling you all about free online chess for locals, being organised by City of Westminster's Neighbourhood Keepers Programme, more online offerings to help through these strange times from Westminster Adult Education Service, and more great work from The Middle Eastern Women & Society Organisation. - including Zumba with a bit of twist!

This week we'll be introducing you a photography competition run by youth empowerment programme Positive View Foundation, looking into the great work still being done by the Middle Eastern Women Society and Organisation including online arts & crafts and classes, and finding out more about the local branch of the Maternity Champions, based up the road at The Portman Early Childhood Centre, where they invite you to a baby sing-a-long!

This week is all about the launch of CrowdFund Westminster - A new initiative to enable Westminster residents and businesses to support and raise money for creative, diverse projects that benefit their communities by City of Westminster Council and Spacehive.
The launch event takes place on 4 August. Have a watch to find out more.
We also talk about Pilots in The Cockpit. Trying and testing alternative ways of welcoming audiences.

We've information on the new summer programme that has been launched by Fourth Feathers Youth Club, a weekly online bookclub being run by the staff from Westminster City Libraries and Kensington & Chelsea Libraries called Aloud In The Cloud, (event link here) and the chance to get cooking with the family Central London Youth Development's food project Fun & Learn.
We'll also tell you about a workshop being run by Learning Unlimited and Westminster Adult Education Service where you can not only make your own puppets, you can also bring them to life in your own stories! It's happening on Tuesday 28 July from 3pm. More information here, or go straight to the event page here.
Not to be defeated, The St Marylebone festival, after being cancelled, is being taken online. You can find information on all the special guests due to perform on the 27 July, here.
Then there's news on three different broadcasts that are happening at The Cockpit as part of their Cockpit Broadcast programme. Happy Hour - a weekly zoom catch up, a screening of new short film Litchblick by Genau Dance Co, and Jazz In The Round... actually happening in the building!

Fourth Feathers Youth and Community Club
With around 500 members at their Youth Centre, and on average 40 come to the Centre daily, with around 9,600 attending per year, this youth and community club is a thriving hub of the community. They welcome all young people between the ages of 8 and 19 from the local areas and further areas of London, with an upper age limit of 25 for members with learning difficulties.
