Side Door Screenings is a one-night celebration of original independent film, bringing together 12 films from emerging filmmakers for an evening at The Cockpit Theatre. Come discover your next favourite filmmaker, meet the people behind the films, and experience a night of independent cinema in one of London’s most creative venues. Meet likeminded creatives in the indpendent film community, along with talented makers that might be the key to unlocking your next project, all whilst watching a collection of the best new shorts in the unfunded scene.

Third Wheel by Clare Nolan - Two best friends, Lisa and Jen, run into a rather slippery fellow… or should I say “bump” into one?

No Swan In Sight by Vanessa Rose - As she prepares for a date, a woman wrestles with a torrent of intrusive thoughts and self doubt that threaten to unravel her.

Dear Darlene by Nabeel Renaaz - In a letter that could be his last, Bruce, a soldier, reminisces about the poet who rewrote the verses of his life, Darlene.

Pigeonman by Frank Robson - A director plans to make a viral video on a local man who thinks he can control birds.in order to get famous. Pigeonman doesn't think he can control birds. He knows it. 

The Suicide Shift by Paul Laight - Banished to the “suicide shift” for breaking spirit call centre regulations, Carmilla is then faced with the most heart-wrenching call of all.

Ten to Six by Alessio Rupalti - Thirty-five years after losing his wife to breast cancer, a retired physicist believes he has found a way to redeem himself. But when he steps into a quiet London café, he encounters a young waiter who may not be a stranger after all.

Billie by Safi Tobi - After Billie's mum dies and she endures a coercive relationship with an ex-boyfriend, she meets Sophie who makes her life bearable again. But when her ex shows up, at the shop she works at, it brings everything back to the surface.

Curse of the Lazy Bum by CJ Ellis - An animated short about a man trying to get his life together and overcome his best friend trying to keep him lazy.

The Last Straw by Mark Brown - A parent gets the unwelcome news that they are about to be cut off from their group of friends. But why?

Snap by Joseph Alexander - Milo and Maggie are heading into the woods for a picnic with their babysitter, April. When her toxic lover, Rob, joins them unexpectedly, Milo calls on a monster to deal with him, unaware of the power the woods hold.

Heart to Heart by Dizolele Isaac - Is Love ever enough? When Halle and Andre are at a crossroads in their relationship, they have a final heart to heart to find a resolution.
