Or maybe you've been making your own work for a while, and you need a sounding board to help you refocus your career or your artistic priorities.

In these 1:1 sessions, you can ask anything you want. Just book a 25-minute appointment to have an online chat with one of our team, Miau Vartiainen or Amy Clare Tasker.

Amy Clare Tasker
Alongside running Theatre Maker at The Cockpit, Amy is codirector of Pinecone Performance Lab and Voila! Europe Theatre Festival. With Pinecone, she writes, performs, directs, and embraces an all-around "theatre maker" ethos. Amy's show HOT (Helen of Troy) premiered at The Cockpit in February 2020. She is currently writing Ukulele Days: a new musical for actor musicians and the world's cheeriest instrument. With Voila! Europe, she programmes and produces an annual festival of European Theatre. In London since 2013, her work has been seen at Rich Mix, Camden People’s Theatre, Theatre Delicatessen, LOST Theatre, Cockpit Theatre, Canal Cafe Theatre, Theatre Utopia, Upstart Theatre's DARE Festival at Shoreditch Town Hall, and the Southbank Centre’s Women of the World Festival. Amy began her career in San Francisco, where she was artistic director of Inkblot Ensemble, and an associate artist with Cutting Ball Theater and EXIT Theatre. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a degree in Drama, after a year at the University of Manchester as an international exchange student.

Miau Vartiainen
With a decade in the London performance freelance hustle circuit, Miau is well-versed in navigating the industry. Having toured every village hall in the UK - with an occasional European leg - they've been a performer, dancer, wrestler; teacher, facilitator, costumer; producer, stage manager, and access worker. They value safe spaces and queer, inclusive working practices.
As an Aries, Miau will provide advice on anything but can best support with questions around access, touring and venue communication.

Miau trained at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and runs the Kids programme at The Cockpit.
