THEATRE IN THE POUND

20 April, 7:00 pm

A not-for-profit scratch night, designed for individuals or groups of performers to try out 10-15 minutes of new work at The Cockpit.

Our legendary scratch nights are an accessible, affordable way for artists to try out new work on stage with full support from our backstage and tech crew.

For audiences, they're a cheap and fun night out, with the chance to see new work and share your thoughts directly with the performers!

A SANTA PREPARES By Owen Frost and Sarah Gain

Will and Sam are the perfect Santa and Elf team on stage and have made a successful business based on this. Everything is merry and bright at the North Pole, but what is really going on for Santa and his elf when the audience steps away? Backstage mid-tour and tensions are rising, as the two friends are racing towards very different crossroads, and things come to a head when Sam lands the job of a lifetime…

 

REPEAT By Georgie Grier

A one-woman play set during the live taping of a pilot episode for The RE-PEAT, a successful YouTube channel devoted to nostalgic film and television. As host Remy attempts to translate her online success into something more permanent, performance and memory begin to blur.

 

NOT AT ALL AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL By Giulia Heaton 

Disclaimer: these conversations are not at all autobiographical - it’d be insulting to presume only I had endured them.
Two actors. Two confessions. Two interactions that could’ve played out either way (and any way in between). Become privy to the insides of two strangers head’s as they navigate Love in its many fonts and formats.
