Produced and presented by The Cockpit
A monthly evening of new political poetry.
Sunday 19 January:
Martin Rowson will read from his new book The xunstiad (Smokestack Books), Clare Ferguson Walker will read from new and old works that will make us laugh, cry and get angry, Selina Rodrigues will read from Ferocious (Smokestack Books) and other works, and Martin Hayes will read from his new book Machine Poems (Smokestack Books).
Martin Rowson is The Guardian and Morning Star cartoonist whose poetry is a scathing satire of contemporary life.
Poet/singer/sculptor/ comedian Clare Ferguson-Walker brings us more "hilarious, crude, thought-provoking" work.
Selina Rodrigues "writes with quiet passion about work and workers".
Martin Hayes writes "important and fascinating" poetry about the wage-slaved grind of industrial capitalism.
Join us for the opening session of The 2025 Re-Enchant season. - where we showcase poetry as an instrument for radical change, and promote the multiplicity of voices coming together to create new working class art of challenge and indictment.
