IS EVERYONE ACTUALLY OKAY
by Olayinka Sobitan-Solomon - The Performance Artist

The growing pain of relationships and how dating can become a game. As exciting as it is, the thrill, the adrenaline, there must be a loser and, well, the winner gets 1st, what’s left is left to the rest. A situationship or a relationship nowadays, the way we find love or the pursuit of love is “Dating Dates”, and how far would you go? Expectations of “getting to know you, getting to know all about you!"

What do you give out, your body or mind first, with the choice of an array of toys too, or a man, what's a pleasurable preference?

HELENA AND HERMIA
by Dora Gawn-Hopkins

It’s always been Helena and Hermia against the world, until one fateful house party where Hermia bumps into her crush Lysander, who’s dragged his friend Demetrius along. In a feminist twist on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the girls don’t destroy their friendship over romantic jealousy or marriage duties. Helena is resentful towards Lysander because she fears that someone else is becoming as close to her best friend as she is. But her behaviour alienates Hermia, and things start to unravel. In the gulf between adolescence and adulthood, surrounded by hormones, mock exams, not-so-grown-up grownups and magical mayhem, can the girls save their friendship before it’s too late?

Drawing on the wonderful wildness of Shakespeare’s characters, this play seeks to go further, celebrating the female voices he and history dismissed.

Tickets are £3 with an optional donation at checkout.

New Stuff finishes at approximately 7.45pm, but we welcome all to join us for continued conversations in the bar downstairs.

Tickets are strictly limited, so booking in advance is highly recommended. Please note that the event takes place in one of our studio spaces, which is only accessible up a spiral staircase.
