Brief Play About Rage is a chilly comedy-drama about a couple who host the worst guest imaginable.
When Nell, an old friend of Val’s, comes to visit, she brings bizarre confrontations, backhanded compliments, and tales of absurd violence, all of which begin to unravel Val and her partner Hugh’s carefully maintained peace - exposing the insecurities at the foundation of their relationship.
Val has never stated the resentment she feels towards Nell. Hugh has never told Val about the fantasies he has of women other than her. Yet all involved seem to know these things already. So what happens when someone finally says what everyone already suspects?
Brief Play About Rage is an absurd comedy of menace - set over one excruciating evening - about the unspoken resentments and the beautiful violence of saying exactly what you mean.
