Some shamxn are so good at casting spells, they put even themselves in a trance, and forget they were charmed to begin with.
Have you ever had to gaslight yourself to stay safe? This one-person show reflects on the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and why we do what we do, and serves to interrogate everything we hold as truth. It explores the depths of darkness the path of individuation and spiritual initiation winds through in order to briefly emerge in the light--but even more than that, it reshapes and reframes the very concepts of such seeming contrasts. Riordan Regan explores the cast of characters inside each one of us, including internal families; cultural heroes, victims, and villians; and themes of queer- and trans*ness that transcend and include bodies, borders, dimensional planes, and states of consciousness.
Come along for this rollicking, psychedelic rap through life and death, heaven and hell, psychosis and visionary ecstasy, childhood trauma, layers of the multiverse, queer transformation, altered states, and even '90s TV to discover the healer we all have inside of us, if we only invite them in.
After all, the greatest act of deception the illustionist ever pulled was forgetting that they were one.
Friends and family audience, but email Riordan if you are interested in attending.
