Bridge The Gap Take-over
w/ Myele Manzanza & MADELEINE
Myele Manzanza @myelemanzanza
Rhythm resides deep in the spirit for drummer and composer Myele Manzanza. It is the universal pulse that governs movement, an intuitive connection between body and sound that produces his genre-spanning, infectiously vibrant music. Having established himself as one of the most energetic and exciting Jazz musicians within the thriving worldwide scene, New Zealand-born, London-based drummer & producer, Myele Manzanza has made a major impact upon the global music landscape.
A founding member of Electric Wire Hustle, Myele has released five solo albums, and racked up tours and collaborations with Jordan Rakei, Theo Parrish, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Recloose and Amp Fiddler amongst others. Myele has developed a strong live presence in his new London base; his quartet has shared stages with the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote, The Bad Plus and Alfa Mist, drawing packed houses to top venues such as The Jazz Café and Ronnie Scott’s. Last year, the first two instalments of his 'Crisis & Opportunity’ record series saw him garner praise from Mary Anne Hobbs, Cerys Matthews, Jamie Cullum, Huey Morgan, The Guardian, Complex, Jazz FM, Lefto, Worldwide FM, Jazzwise and more.
MADELEINE @_madeleinemusic
An emerging player in the nu-jazz and UK soul scene, MADELEINE is a singer, songwriter and producer taking influence from the progressive electronics of Flying Lotus and Kiefer, whilst showcasing the tuneful sensibilities of songwriters Lianne La Havas and Stevie Wonder. She has gained support from Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio 2), Jess Iszatt (BBC Introducing), Dan Alani (Reprezent Radio), Jazz FM (China Moses & Tony Minvielle), and press support from the likes of Line Of Best Fit, We Are Soul and Cool Hunting.
MADELEINE is also a celebrated session musician, touring the world as keyboardist for the likes of Arlo Parks, Poppy Ajudha and Rachel Chinouriri. The influences of those travels can be heard across ""Sun Daughter"", which provides snapshots of the sonics of late night drives across the USA set against naturalistic imagery and soulful, jazz-tinged songwriting."
