Course Description

Discover how improvisation can help you build authentic characters, shape original scenes, and deepen your connection with text. Whether you’re devising, rehearsing, or discovering a role, this workshop will give you playful and practical tools to enhance your creative process.

Who could benefit from this course?

Actors, devisers, writers and directors - and anyone seeking to sharpen their character instincts and find a new way into their storytelling and performance. No prior improv experience required.

How does it work?

The session will include guided improvisation skills, character building techniques, and scene work: some from existing texts, some created in the room. We’ll focus on spontaneity, mutual support, and collaboration grounded in empathy.

ANDREW ALLEN
Andrew is a director, writer and actor with over 20 years experience in performing arts and education. He coaches groups, individuals and companies in finding common ground, clarity and dynamic communication. He created the shows One Woman Alien, A Beginning, A Muddle and An End, Year Without Summer and is the co-founder of Ironclad Creative CIC, providing networking, training and opportunities for writers, artists and theatre-makers.
