Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff are two eccentric gentlemen, both leading double lives in order to enjoy the pleasures of the country as well as the city. But when Jack proposes to Gwendolen Fairfax, and Algernon falls for Cecily Cardew, their alter-egos prove all too alluring. Meanwhile, Gwendolen’s mother, Lady Bracknell, is determined to ensure that her daughter makes a good match, and soon discovers that Jack’s origins are far from favourable…
