Pete the Temp & The Vibe Mechanics @petethetemp @EmmyTheHarp @HalKellyMusic

The Vibe Mechanics are a psychedelic and highly engaging collision of harp, vocals and a throbbing cosmos. In this mashup of music and theatricalities, classical instruments combine with synth and FX machinery. The result is a poetic and songful carnival of vibes. Expect a one-of-a-kind act of rapture. Laugh, sing and prepare to be enchanted.

‘Fresh, empowering and fun’ (Shambala Festival)

‘Sublimely nuts’ (Shindig Festival)

‘Absurd as it is infectious’ (Green Gathering)

Barbara Brownskirt @barbarabrownskirt

Penge's poet laureate, Barbara Brownskirt, is poet-in-residence at the 197 bus stop, Croydon Road. Indefatigable, prolific, and utterly unpublishable, Barbara is the comedic alter-ego of writer Karen McLeod, and according to McLeod, a "manifestation of bitterness, anger, lesbian cliché, railing against her lot through poetry. She might be rubbish, but she doesn't know it."
Writer Karen McLeod is the prize-winning author of 'In Search of the Missing Eyelash' and a new memoir 'Lifting Off' - both published on 7th June by Muswell Press.

“Barbara Brownskirt (A character of Karen McLeod) is the best of anarchic comedy, shouting her way through some beautifully written, often cringe-fuelled poetry. To pivot from taking the piss to tugging on our heartstrings is a tall order, and Brownskirt does it with ease.”  - To Do List London ★★★★★

“Rik Mayall meets performance art.” - The Sunday Times

"I loved it!" - Carol Ann Duffy

"Indefatigable, prolific and utterly unpublishable, Barbara is rubbish, but she doesn't know it." - VICE Magazine
