Lisson to the Haiku
Presented by John Hegley
Lisson to the Haiku
West London Word Workshops with John Hegley.
A choice of two 2-hour workshops experimenting with the Japanese form of short poetry, the haiku, led by a teacher who knows his stuff. In a warm and relaxed environment, you’ll tap into your memories and imagination and produce pieces that
will cheer up your creative powers.
There may also be other forms of poetry.
There will probably be drawing. There will definitely be biscuits.
John Hegley has for many years been involved in the creation of songs, poems, books, radio programmes, theatre, pub and festival performances and cardboard animals.
A former BBC online poet and poet in residence at Keats House, he has been honoured with a doctorate from the University of Bedfordshire, was nominated for the Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Award and was described in The Independent as
‘comedy’s poet laureate’.
His poetry and drawing workshops have delighted and inspired attendees all over the U.K.
'Family life would be a lot easier if you could just open the cupboard and pull out your Hegley every time things got fractious, heated or miserable'
