This month's show is curated by Zoe Rahman.
ZOE RAHMAN TRIO - @zoe.rahman
Zoe is one of the brightest stars on the contemporary jazz scene. A vibrant and highly individual pianist and composer, her style is deeply rooted in jazz yet it reflects her classical background, British/Bengali heritage and her very broad musical taste.
NOMIEYE (SOLO) - @rosie.turton
Nomieye is the modular synth alias of trombonist, composer, and producer Rosie Turton, who is known for her genre-blurring explorations between jazz, ambient, and electronic sound worlds. With Nomieye, Rosie steps further into the realms of improvisation and texture, using modular synthesis to craft immersive sonic environments that feel both intimate and expansive. Emerging from the same creative energy behind Rosie’s acclaimed releases—praised by The Guardian, Jazz FM, and Bandcamp—Nomieye embodies a deep listening experience. It is a project rooted in the meditative, the transient, and the experimental: music made through intuitive connection with machines, sculpting evolving soundscapes that speak to nature, stillness, and transformation. Nomieye’s performances and recordings are built around live improvisations and the organic unpredictability of modular synthesizers, all whilst layering loops, field recordings, trombone and synth textures into compositions that resist categorisation. While Rosie’s previous works, such as 'Wandering, Wondering' and 'Expansions and Transformations', already hinted at these ambient leanings, Nomieye fully opens that portal—offering a distinct but connected voice that continues to push the boundaries of sound and storytelling.
RED EARTH COLLECTIVE [EMERGENCE] - @red.earth.collective / @youthsayers
A band drawn from alumni of Youthsayers, the youth music charity run by Robin Hopcraft and Idris Rahman that provides free music opportunities for young people who want to experience group music making in culturally relevant genres such as afrobeat, jazz and reggae.
The Red Earth Collective is an opportunity for them to continue to deepen their connection to the music and to each other, and to develop their creativity in front of audiences in professional settings.
