Fringe REvolution 2026

A conference on Fringe theatre

Produced and presented by The London Fringe Theatre Network & The Cockpit

Fringe Revolution:
Our annual conference on the present and future of Fringe Theatre

Saturday 28 November

10:00 am - 1:30 pm

Last year, we brought together more than 70 theatre makers, academics, and Fringe leaders to discuss the big question - "Is Fringe Theatre in trouble?"

In response, the London Fringe Theatre Network was created. For the past year, LFTN has been building a network and hosting events to connect Theatre Makers and Writers.

Now we ask, "What's next?"

With The Stage reporting on the “uphill struggles” in Edinburgh over the summer, uncertainty around the future of ACE funding and the recent closure of prominent London venues and festivals, should we be sounding the alarm? Or is this all a perception problem? London Fringe Theatre Makers are made of strong stuff. We continue to survive and display our art. But is it time for us to fight back more strategically against this narrative of decline? Should we be coming together to get battle-ready for the challenges coming over the hill in the second quarter of the 21st century? Can we, collectively, combine our expertise and figure out how to evolve the capital’s Fringe Theatre community to be future-ready?

That’s what we intend to find out at Fringe REvolution - A series of one-day conferences on the present and future of London Fringe Theatre.
