Big Brother is always watching...

Produced and presented by The PeaHead

It was a bright cold day in April and the clocks were striking thirteen.

From working class people, for working class people, the world of ‘1984’ reimagined.

An experience that incorporates both video and live performance, bringing to life the familiar story of a dystopian London where everyone is being watched at all times. On a stage that offers seating on all sides, the claustrophobic feeling of never having privacy is enhanced, as we invite the audience to play the role of Big Brother. With Winston being on stage at all times, relentlessly watched by peers and strangers alike, we closely follow the downfall of a man under an oppresive system.

The PeaHead is a company founded in 2023, aiming to gather working class creatives from all over London. Our first play, Nostalgia (Saudade) was part of the Camden Fringe Festival in 2023 and was met with great reception throughout the festival.

''1984'' is the company’s most ambitious work to date, aiming to solidify The PeaHead in the art world and achieve longevity for all future endeavours. As a working class individuals, it is important to make our mark in the industry, reminding everyone that not only we exist, but we deserve our own place in the arts.
