So much theatre is full of memorable moments, but often lacks the deep structure that would take it to the next level...Daisy is a master storyteller, who will guide you week by week as you work on your own show, inspiring you to see that a deep understanding of story structure will completely transform your writing, and possibly even your life! This is true whatever your chosen genre.

Weeks One and Two: Story Structure
"Talent without craft is like fuel without an engine, it burns wildly but accomplishes nothing."
Finding a passion for deep structure is a prerequisite for writing a great show. This is not just about formulas, but about understanding how story cogs turn, so you can innovate at the deepest level of story and understand why the meaning is always carried in the structure.
Week Three: Share your Show and get Feedback
"Smile and write everything down, even if you hate it. You might realise later that they were right. And if not, who cares?"
An opportunity for all participants to share their show outline and receive constructive feedback and ideas. If you don't yet have a show, you will by this stage of the course.
Weeks Four and Five: Scene Ingredients & Dialogue
“If the scene is about what the scene is about, you're in deep shit.”
And so... finally you have everything in place to begin writing dialogue!
We will look at case studies, and script a scene together, breaking them down to their smallest moving parts to understand exactly how dialogue and stage business work.
Week Six: Getting over Blocks
"Writing is easy. You just stare at a blank page until your soul bleeds."
Hard won tips and tricks about the inner battle of getting a show written. Beat back resistance and self-doubt by discovering how to keep the writing process FUN…
You are now all set to complete your show...
